The villa is divided into three areas, a main gathering area, The Rancho a massive 4000sf round building with a six story tall Thatched roof, built with Tropical-Polynesian style architecture. There are four suites in total, two 700 sf king suites both with full private baths and alfresco showers, perfect for couples that want that romantic privacy, also with your own private veranda that overlooks the Pacific ocean. And two 800sf queen suites; these have an attached bedroom for families, both with full private baths and alfresco showers and private decks.
Then, there is the Loft in the Rancho with two queen beds and two singles beds with mosquito nets, although you need not use them. Altogether the villa can sleep twenty guests in their own comfortable bed, but with so much to do why sleep, when you are not indulging in our Infinity pool or hiking around the property or heading down to the beaches, waterfalls, tidal pools.
Tres Palmas Kitchen
The cooking arrangements, we have a full modern kitchen, with 6 burner stove, oven, large griddle, indoor and outdoor barbeque grill and a pizza oven. And it is totally up to you if you prefer to do the cooking or let our onsite caretaker/chef do it for you. He has been known to ( click to chef details) cook up some pretty amazing dinners, fish fiestas, pizza parties, the ritual daily guacamole and chips with Pico de Gallo, or for the fish lover’s ceviche and banana chips. The afternoon ritual is tropical cocktails by and in the infinity edge pool after a long day at the beach or out on a tour. Or maybe your group would prefer a massage after the pool, with your cocktail. And maybe during the day the women in the group would rather get pampered with a massage or some spa treatments, local mud masks and facials, full body scrubs with coconut or chocolate, or some yoga sessions while the guys are out catching up the fish dinner, it’s all available and up to you!!!
And always remember, Mi Casa Es Su Casa
Infinity Pool & Deck Area
Tres Palmas features a horizon style pool which helps one feel as though one is in the midst of the ocean with beach! Pool entries at both ends that can be used for lounging in the Costa Rican sun and deeper water in the middle for a refreshing dip after a day of exploring in the Osa. Tres Palmas’ deck area has a large patio table with an umbrella for shade and lounge chairs for working on your tan. There is also a large outdoor BBQ area to grill your catch of the day.
Tres Palmas is truly exceptional. For those who care about these things, the quality of the construction, the finishes, and landscaping of this property were absolutely first-class. We spent a good deal of time admiring the enormous thatched roof and never ascended or descended the driveway on foot or by vehicle without shaking our heads in wonder that someone constructed that acutely steep path. Nota bene: do not rent an undersized vehicle — follow the guidelines outlined on the website, you’ll be very glad you did.
There’s so much more to tell you, but honestly, Tres Palmas was such a wonderful experience I almost hate to share it. You will not be disappointed.
This was our 2nd time in Costa Rica; Osa was a new area for us and we are so glad we chose Tres Palmas in every single way. Our entrance to the villa was breathtaking and truly spectacular. The profusion of flowers, the incredible view, the design and the layout was perfect for our group of 12: Ron and I (parents and grandparents) daughter Lara and her husband and 2 teenage girls, son Jere and his son and daughter, Zach and his son and daughter (kid’s ages 4 to 17). It was easy to select the perfect room for us. We really loved all the cozy areas in the large rotunda to appeal to any given constellation of people for games, coloring, reading, napping. The kids loved the pool, there were always fresh towels stacked up for us, we had room on a shelf and the fridge for our groceries and the kitchen was always neat and clean.
Thank you so so much! Ginny & Ron
The place is very likely THE best place to stay when you are visiting the Osa Peninsula. It is pricey but well worth the money. The view from the property over the Dulce Gulf toward Panama is outstanding. The primary house structure is one of a kind, an architectural marvel, made, seemingly, without a single nail. You can observe animal life right from the house; the place is the one the birdwatchers will die for. Have about a dozen scarlet macaws, few toucans and aracaris, curassows, small parrots, caracaras, white hawks and couple more birds in a view simultaneously is a fantastic experience.
Our stay at Tres Palmas was too short ..next time we will stay a week!
The photos don’t do this house justice..it is a stunner and the staff were wonderful. This was our 4th visit to the Matapalo area and by far the best.
I have never seen so many toucans which are my favourite of all birds.
Thank You Brad and George we had a wonderful stay.
